Saving money on PC games

PC gaming is an expensive hobby – but it doesn’t have to be this way. There are several ways you can enjoy playing games without having to pay for them – at all or at least the full retail price. Here is what we recommend:

Steam – if the game you want to play is available on Steam, you are lucky! They always have something on sale and have a pretty liberal sharing policy. Steam offers Family Sharing which allow you to play games your friends and family bought – but not at the same time with them. You can also login with their accounts but beware – it might not be something Valve/Steam approves. For more details about Family Sharing, check out the official How-to. For sales, login with your Steam account and you’ll see pop-ups with the current deals. There is always something going on especially around the major holidays!

Battle.Net – no sharing policy and they are very strict with people caught using someone else’s account. However, WoW, Diablo III, and Starcraft II have starter editions – free to play. If you like the game, consider buying full versions to support the developers.

Origin – most games cost money. However, they have a subscription service (similar to Netflix) where you can get access to many games for a small monthly fee – it’s called Origin Access. You won’t find recently released games there but if you are interested in titles like FIFA 16, Battlefield 3 and 4, Crysis 2 and 3, TitanFall, SimCity, and many others – give it a go! For more details about Origin Access, visit the official F.A.Q. and check out the list of games included with your membership.

Uplay – games like Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, etc. No family sharing and no subscriptions available. Recommend using Steam instead.

  • Rockstar Social Club – games like GTA V, Max Payne, etc. Same as above, use Steam.

You can get cheaper games from sites like Not everyone thinks they are legit and there have been some cases when publishers invalidated the keys but that’s very uncommon. Be warned though. They also offer random premium Steam keys for less than a few dollars but the games will probably leave you disappointed. Do your research!

Last tip is the best one. Reddit has a thread where people share the best game deals they found – discounts can be up to 100%! So, check it regularly and you’ll have an endless supply of games.

You might be wondering, why can’t we purchase games and offer to customers? Several reasons:

  • Game publishers prohibit it in the licensing agreements
  • Cheating can result in a permanent account ban
  • Game progress can only be saved if you own the games or use legal ways of sharing
  • Buying games is just a right thing to do – if you want the publisher to stay in business and make new games

So, go ahead and buy games you want. If you don’t have a computer, your computer doesn’t provide a pleasant game experience, or you just want to have a good time with your mates – play here. We will be happy to install your games if you become our regular customer.
